Mountain View Teen Killed by Car Near Russellville Club

Darci Mandissa Ann Looney, 19, of Mountain View, Arkansas, entered into rest on Saturday October 30, 2010 in Russellville, Arkansas. Darci was born November 30, 1990 in Batesville, Arkansas to her father Robert D. Looney and her mother Tina Cates. She was a member of Foothills Baptist Church. She graduated from Mountain View High School in 2009 and was a student at Ozarka College in Mountain View. Darci was a wonderful, loving, caring daughter, granddaughter and very good friend to many.

Russellville police are investigating an accident that killed 19-year-old Darci Looney of Mountain View around 1 o'clock Saturday morning.

Officers say Looney was crossing Arkansas Avenue near the 40000 block which is near the 'Poder Latino Club' when she was hit by a 2002 Oldsmobile driven by Jesse Kendrick.

Police say the club was rented out by someone who was using it to host a Halloween Party. It is unclear if Looney had attended that party.

Blood tests were taken from both Looney and Kendrick. Those results are due back in a few weeks.

Russellville officers say the accident was witnessed by a state police trooper who was running radar close by. He says Kendrick was not speeding.

So far, no one has been sited for the accident.
