El Clasico, Barcelona vs Real Madrid

At 9pm Monday evening [2pm in Russellville, Arkansas], the footballing world will stop in its tracks and focus on events at the Camp Nou as Barcelona and Real Madrid embark on the 161st Clasico. The match is being labeled the match of the millennium in these parts, as the Spanish press live up to their reputation as sensationalists of the highest order. What's certain is that it is without doubt one of the most eagerly anticipated Clasicos in years.

Barcelona has Real Madrid on their heels after 18 minutes, with Pedro seeing the Blaugrana to an early 2-0 lead. The Spanish international's goal came after Iker Casillas was unable to stop a low David Villa cross, giving Pedro an easy finish into an undefended Real Madrid net.

Villa dribbled at Ramos before getting the defender to shift his weight to his left foot, a sign to make for the byline. From there, Villa drove a ball across the six yard box, through goalkeeper Iker Casillas's hands to an oncoming Pedro, who ran onto the ball for an easy finish into the middle of the net.

Now in the 34th minute, the match remains 2-0, Barcelona.

The game finished with hilight of Barcelona 5 - 0 Real Madrid

Rebuilding a life

Everyone has a past, but how real is that past, experienced or felt how it was. Deceive ourselves and remember only the interpretation of experiences filtered through a sentimental memory. The experiences are erased from the mind, memories are transformed, mixed with dreams, desires and confused with imagination. Can not mind building experience by analogies, on the basis of other similar experiences, extrapolating landscapes, characters and actions, and rebuild new memories?

Can we say that memories are less valid than a dream nurtured for years? That dream can take the place of memories and experiences to fill a life (fantasies in which it is believed and accepted as real.) Who knew that our past is false? Do the "versions" of those we meet? They can only remember fragments of our former life: those that make you laugh or feel sorry for, and often those in which they are the main characters, because in the end, are his memories, the experiences of them.

We could then fill our lives with dreams just like we can fill it with memories. And though our present is empty, we could retreat into the past. But what is the past? There are memories stored in the form of images, that would be false (dream) if it was not because there are places, not exactly the same, new constructions, extensions, people do not know. Who has not returned to the birthplace and is surprised to see the places where a child would no longer exist, and even those who are no longer met and if we find are so different from those we leave. What we have then? Remember them? The memories that we made ourselves, our version of the past.

And I wonder: Can there be someone who evoke their fantasies as realities and build your past based on their dreams? ...

Corporations can buy an indivudual freedom of speech?

"I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend with my life your RIGHT to say it." – Voltaire

Corporation media outlet sells its time to the campaigns advertisers like all the capitalist countries in the world. The money that they earn always is more based what they guarantee to their advertisers that its propagandas will be seen for viewers, readers, listeners, etc. Once advertisers have access to users, they at the same time, send us messages tantalizing us to buy. The war for obtain the audience is until die, and as we know, in all war the first one who be died is the barer of truth.

In the 90’s, media sector had and expansion process: the massive incorporation of technology and the concentration about who belong the media. In other words, phenomenon of expansion, concentration, and social exclusion.
In all the countries in process of development and in Europe the television and broadcasting were a monopoly of the states. The technology and the transnationalization made possible the transmission of satellite through the frontiers destroying official controls and giving to audience news and more options.

In journalism, the right of freedom of expression can serve as justification for publishing a piece that could affect someone’s privacy or honor. However, in these types of cases the publication could either be found to be justified or not, or put another way, the author of the publication could either be sentenced or not. Exposure to trials with such uncertain outcomes gives one pause as to the deterrent effect of civil legislation, and added to this is the lack of clarity regarding the amount of the fine if convicted.

In Latin America both the American Convention on Human Rights , and the International Convention on the Rights of the Child, serve as the legal foundation for certain regulations on media content. However, I maintain that these documents leave little room for possibilities. The Inter-American Court of Human Rights held that Article 13 of the American Convention “establishes an exception to prior censorship, since it allows it in the case of public entertainment, but only in order to regulate access for the moral protection of children and adolescents. In all other cases, any preventive measure implies the impairment of freedom of thought and expression.” Likewise, Article 13 considers that hate speech shall be an offense punishable by law when it contains an incitement to “violence or to any other similar illegal action.”

The freedom of speech we all hold dear in this country, should it apply only to individuals? I am not sure how anyone could make the case for that. Freedom of speech is freedom of speech, no matter who it applies to. Special interest groups already hold sway over a lot of government policy and this does not apply only to corporations. Labor unions are just as guilty and most of them favor the Democrats. I think the term “six of one, half a dozen of another” applies very well to this case.

However, reforms should take into account the weaknesses of the judiciary in Latin America, and should, at a minimum, limit any possibility of interpretation that could restrict press freedom.

But what about organizations which aren’t for-profit businesses seeking commerce? Take for example the Roman Catholic Church: does a sermon made by a priest qualify as individual speech covered by the First Amendment, or is it commercial speech that can be more tightly regulated? As another example, consider an official statement issued by a bishop — which category does that fall into?
Most people, I think, would be inclined to categorize such acts as free speech that is protected by the First Amendment, but what makes them different from a press release issued by an executive of Nike or Coca Cola? Well, the former do invovle a religious organization and religion does receive special protection by the First Amendment, so perhaps we should consider a different example.
Externally imposed restrictions on this type of speech in the interest of limiting the signal-to-noise ratio in publicly available information are abhorrent. It is also an unrealistic expectation for others to believe that the public writ large will suddenly demand only the most pure and relevant information be presented to them — especially given the subjectiveness of relevance. Indeed, the best thing anyone can hope for is that the most information that can be made available to the public is presented to it.

Perhaps we are looking at his incorrectly. If we find that this inconsistency is unacceptable, perhaps the solution is not to grant commercial speech the same protections as other forms of speech; maybe it would be better to hold the other forms of speech to the same standards as commercial speech?

As we see in Intro to Mass Communication class, in the early days, we are having more stuffs about how we can express our freedom speech, obviously, following our 7 cannons of Journalism:

1] - Responsibility
2] – Freedom of press
3] – Independence
4] – Sincerity, Truthfulness, accuracy
5] – Impartiality
6] – Fair play
7] - Decency

Poem #20

This is a poem from Pablo Neruda (Parral, Chile, 1904-Santiago de Chile, 1973), his real name was Neftalí Ricardo Reyes Basoalto, but he took that nickname in honor by his favorite poet Jan Neruda.

Here is one of my favorite. I will posted in Spanish, but i am goint to translated into English too.

SPANISH
Poema #20

ENGLISH:
Poem #20

I could write the very saddest verses tonight
Writing, for example "The night is sprinkled
With stars sparkling blue, far away."
The night wind whirls in the sky and sings.

I could write the very saddest verses tonight
I loved her and at times she also loved me.

On nights like this I had her in my arms.
I kissed her so many times under the infinite sky.

She loved me, at times I also loved her.
How could I not love her big staring eyes?

I could write the very saddest verses tonight.
To think I don't have her. To feel that I have lost her.

To hear the immense night, even more immense without her.
And the verses fall on the soul like dew on the pasture.

What does it matter that my love couldn't keep her?
The night is full of stars and she's not with me.

That's all. Far off someone is singing. Far off
My love is not used to having lost her.

How my glance looks for her to get close to her.
My heart looks for her and she's not with me.

The same night that turns the same trees white.
We aren't now the same way we were then.

I no longer love her, that's certain, but how much I loved her.
My voice searched on the wind to touch her ear.

Someone else's, she's someone else's. Like before I kissed her.
Her voice, her bright body. Her infinite eyes.

I no longer love her, that's certain, but perhaps I love her.
Love lasts so short and forgetting takes so long.

But on nights like this I had her in my arms.
My heart is not used to having lost her.

Although this may be the last pain that she causes me
And these may be the last verses that I write her.
[From Twenty Poems of Love and One of Desperation]

Jesús de Nazareth

Time ago, I read a book called "Jesus of Nazareth: A man without equal" and then I saw a quote from a man named Phillip Schaff.
I will translate into Spanish. I love this quote, besides; I found more quotes about Jesus:

"Jesus of Nazareth, without money and arms, conquered more millions than Alexander the Great, Caesar, Mohammed, and Napoleon; without science and learning, he shed more light on things human and divine than all philosophers and scholars combined; without the eloquence of school, he spoke such words of life as were never spoken before or since, and produced effects which lie beyond the reach of orator or poet; without writing a single line, he set more pens in motion, and furnished themes for more sermons, orations, discussions, learned volumes, works of art, and songs of praise than the whole army of great men of ancient and modern times." –Philip Schaff

-Phillip Schaff

I have been looking at other bands to see if I can find different music genres that I would like...I found this! It is by iron abnd wine and the song is called Jezabel.

my first colombian cooking experience...

So last week my friend decided that we should all learn how to make arepas. They are a type of tortilla that are originally from Colombia. I wasn't so sure of how good they were going to turn out considering that none of us had made them besides my friend Joanna but still we decided to try it out. All I have to say is that everybody should try this things. They are absolutely delicious! Here is the recipe:
Yellow or white cornstarch
Warm water about 2 cups for every cup of water
Toppinps you want to put on top of the arepas like cheese, butter, ham, sausage, eggs, etc.

Once you have the cornstarch, you mix it with the water and then you use the dough to make tortillas but a bit thicker. Then you place them on a skillet and let them cook on the top of the stove with a bit of butter so that they turn golden brown. hope you try them!

Who do you trust?

I am not a big fan of comic, but when i watched this trailer I was speechless.
It's about a new game of DC universe; it supposed to be released on this month, it is for PS3, Playstation, and other consoles.

I had to watched about 3 times to understand it. I repeat, I am not a big fan of COmics, I only remember the few this I knew about this heroes.

It's a pretty good trailer for a game though, even if you don't like the video games you will enjoy this little pice of trailer.

Battle: Los angeles

I have been saying this since I began with my blog: I LOVE the SCI-FI (Science-fiction). And in February the next year is going to be released a movie named “Battle: Los Angeles”.

First of all, here is playing my favorite actress: Michelle Rodriguez. I love her movies <3

Liebesman. It is starring Aaron Eckhart in the lead role. The movie is also starring Bridget Moynahan, Michelle Rodriguez and Michael Pea alongside an ensemble cast including Ramon Rodriguez and Ne-Yo. “Battle Los Angeles” will be released on February 18, 2011.

The film is loosely based on a true event that took place on February 25, 1942, involving a large-scale anti-aircraft artillery barrage against targets which subsequently remained unidentified:

Skyline movie

The last week on November 12th, Skyline movie was released.

As I say before, I live the science fiction and I am pretty sure that this movie is going to be awesome. I have seen the trailer and it's speechless. Well, I’m going to write little bit about the movie.

I haven't seen it yet, but i am planning go with my friends tomorrow. I have read some reviews of the movie, some people says that this movie is awesome, others says that it sucks, let's see how is it.
Also, probably I will watch Megamind with my nephews too.

Measuring the world with rice

1 Rice = 1 Person

The creator of the unusual exposition use an idea pretty simple: one grain of rice for each person in this whole world. When visitors walk by the lobby, they can see piles of rice with different sizes that helps to visualize statistics about the world.
For example, one pile represents the demography of a country. Other pile is about children that will be born in this world in the next 24 hours. When we visualize the different sizes, it helps to see different proportions that we can’t see just with numbers.

Some of this piles shock our mind by its impact visual. One big pile represents the people died in the Holocaust. Other one, amazingly big, represents the children in the world with hungry. And this third one...

...Represent the children that will be die in the next 24 hours by malnutrition :/

...will be far stranger

Behind every man now alive stand thirty ghosts, for that is the ratio by
which the dead outnumber the living. Since the dawn of time, roughly a hundred
billion human beings have walked the planet Earth.

Now this is an interesting number, for by a curious coincidence there are
approximately a hundred billion stars in our local universe, the Milky Way. So
for every man who has ever lived, in this Universe there shines a star.
But every one of those stars is a sun, often far more brilliant and glorious
than the small, nearby star we call the Sun. And many - perhaps most - of those
alien suns have planets circling them. So almost certainly there is enough land
in the sky to give every member of the human species, back to the first ape-man,
his own private, world-sized heaven - or hell.

How many of those potential heavens and hells are now inhabited, and by what
manner of creatures, we have no way of guessing; the very nearest is a million
times farther away than Mars or Venus, those still remote goals of the next
generation. But the barriers of distance are crumbling; one day we shall meet
our equals, or our masters, among the stars.

Men have been slow to face this prospect; some still hope that it may never
become reality. Increasing numbers, however, are asking: "Why have such meetings
not occurred already, since we ourselves are about to venture into space?"
Why not, indeed? Here is one possible answer to that very reasonable
question. But please remember, this is only a work of fiction.

The truth, as always, will be far stranger.

Time - CREED

I can't explain
Can't quite put my finger on it
The difference that makes us so different
We've said everything
Our words only betrayed us
Nothing is left nothing was left unsaid

This time I have nothing left to lose
I'm stuck the second hand won't move
Its about time that I speak my mind
Its about time, about time to find pieces of me I have lost
Without any choice I move on
Hey time you're no friend of mine

You cover yourself you cover your skin
You cover yourself like you cover your sin
Please untie my hands
I'm a sinner, I'm a man
I ask for one minute to make you understand

This time I have nothing left to lose
I'm stuck the second hand won't move
Its about time that I speak my mind
Its about time, about to find pieces of me I have lost
Without any choice I move on
Hey time you're no friend of mine
Hey time you're no friend of mine

Will you be there
To catch when I stumble when I fall
When I fall
Its so very clear
You left me when I had no one at all
No one at all

Who will be there
To catch me when...

...Time you're no friend of mine

Podcast

Imagine getting new “radio” style talk and music shows to listen to on your iPod or other MP3 player every day. You wake up and automatically have new shows ready to listen to while you exercise or commute to work. This is the podcast listening experience.
Not only that, but anyone can create his or her own “radio”style show and broadcast it to the world in very little time and at very little cost. All you need is a computer, a mic and the internet.

And this is kind of interesting, because you can be out of the traditional broadcasting radio that only play the music over and over again.
I am beggining with podcast, i have some followers from Mexico, it's kind of my first steps for Broadcasting radio.

Podcasters (as they are called) are not restricted by the FCC (Federal Communications Commission ) or traditional broadcast formats and regulations. This allows for numerous subjects and formats.

I am a fan and follower of Mario Filio Podcast.

Cultural succeed for Mexico

Mexico is congratulated after the succeed of its three candidacies were incorporated to the list of Intangible Heritage for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization and Mexico says that they want to request for more, including the Mariachi, reported by the Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia [INAH] (Anthropology and history National Institute).

The Mexican food, the festival of “Parachicos” from Chiapa de Corzo, and the “pireuka” chants of the Purepechas indigenous, were today registered as Intangible Heritage.
The ritual ceremony of “voladores de Papantla” (Papantla fliers) and the celebration “Dia de los Muertos” (day of the dead) were others two customs previously achieved for the UNESCO.

The Intergubernamental committee of the UNESCO had a meet sice yesterday in Nairobi (Kenia), added other 12 Hispanic candidacies today to the Intangible Heritage, with the other three Mexican.

The convention dedicated to safeguard the intangible heritage was created in 2003, and it has 192 members.

Octavio Ocampo was born on 28 February 1943 in Celaya, Guanajuato, Mexico. He studied art from early childhood, he grew up in a family designers.

Ocampo is known for several works in his sometimes wryly sardonic, sometimes evocative paintings in which detailed images are intricately woven together to create larger images - the optical illusions fading back and stepping forward as you study the pieces, notice the details, and finally recognize the large scale intention. This is what Octavio Ocampo terms his "metamorphic" style.

The talents of Octavio Ocampo are not limited to painting and sculpture, but also extended to acting and dancing. At the Art Institute of San Francisco, he studied all these disciplines and pursued both a film and theater career. In 1976, he began to devote himself solely to painting and sculpture. He now works primarily in the metamorphic style – using a technique of superimposing and juxtaposing realistic and figurative details within the images that he creates.

Russellville police are investigating an accident that killed 19-year-old Darci Looney of Mountain View around 1 o'clock Saturday morning.

Officers say Looney was crossing Arkansas Avenue near the 40000 block which is near the 'Poder Latino Club' when she was hit by a 2002 Oldsmobile driven by Jesse Kendrick.

Police say the club was rented out by someone who was using it to host a Halloween Party. It is unclear if Looney had attended that party.

Blood tests were taken from both Looney and Kendrick. Those results are due back in a few weeks.

Russellville officers say the accident was witnessed by a state police trooper who was running radar close by. He says Kendrick was not speeding.

So far, no one has been sited for the accident.
